Mr McCarra, referred to as Jeff by his students, was known to be the nicest teacher in school so it didn't surprise him when one of his students asked to talk about something personal after school with him. He did that quite often and his is students really liked him for it while the faculty became very jealous because of it. Despite all this, he was still caught by surprise at what the student had to say to him.
"I love you," she told him, then stood there blushing with tears in her eyes. At first, Jeff was too stunned to say anything but the first word that came out of his mouth was "Why?" and he knew as soon as he said it that it was stupid. She immediately burst into tears and sobbing but still tried to talk. Jeff, not knowing what to do but knowing there was nothing else to do, went to her and enfolded her in his arms. When she was sufficiently calmed down she told him what had happened.
She had moved here not terribly long ago, only a few months, and she was already getting pretty depressed because she missed all her old friends and everything else but on top of that her parents were horribly abusive. At this Jeff exclaimed but she said not to say anything because she didn't want to ruin the family. She continued telling him of her slide into depression and how bad it really was. She nearly commitited suicide several times and her parents never took her to the doctors for it for fear that the doctors would notice other cuts and bruises inflicted by them.
Then she told him about how she was switched into his class, though she didn't think he had noticed very much, and how she saw how much of a great guy he was. She said that she looked forward to his class everyday and that she stopped doing all those bad things she had been doing before. It had only taken her a short while to realize that she had fallen in love with him. But he didn't seem t be paying much attention to her so she slid back down a bit more until she made up her mind to tell him.
"I need you," she said with urgency. "You're the only reason that I live." Jeff, who had just gotten over much of his initial surprise at this painful story was once again caught off guard.
"You don't need me," he said softly.
"Yes, I do," she responded taking his hand and putting it against her cheek. "I don't know what I'd do if I hadn't met you." When she began kissing the hand she had taken possession of Jeff pulled it back.
"Listen, no one really needs anyone else to live. There have got to be other things you hold dear to you. Don't you have any siblings?"
"No." She began crying once more. "I don't think you understand," she said between sobs. "I really do need you. I can't do anything! You allow me to hold on! You're my hand-hold on the cliff of life! I LOVE YOU!" And with that she kissed him with every drop of passion in her young body. Through the haze of this passion Jaff vaguely remembered being annoyed at being stunned so much in one day but other than that he could not refrain from kissing her back.
"You know I can't be doing this, right?" He said when there was finally a pause. She nodded her head but rested it on his chest and put her arms around him. Now Jeff had tears in his eyes. "I can't be doing this," he thought. "I shouldn't be loving this sweet hurting girl but..."
"I do love you too," he finished aloud.
I said I was going to do this a really really long time ago and now... here it is!
